Nuttin...

new yesterday. Slept til 3. Ran some errands around 3:30. Came home, cleaned out in front of the garage & got some things put away cuz winters-a-comin. Joe got home, we ate some din-din, petted the doggies. Gave the new little one a bath, read, took a nap, came to work.

Now it's 5:30am and I've got about another hour or so left and I can go home & sleep again. Seems like when you work midnight shift, that's about all you do is sleep. I work at 7pm tonight and guess what? Daylight savings ends so we fall back an hour. That means instead of working 12 hrs tonight, I work 13. Joy. (can you hear the sarcasm?)

Been trying real hard to stay on-program for WW while on this shift. It's been a challenge that is for sure. I've snuck a few quick peeks at the scale on two different days and I've lost a few lbs. But the true reading will be Monday morning when I do my weekly weigh in. But with working mids, I haven't been stuffing my face. Just getting some cravings on the rotten shift. I've been trying to drink my water, eat my recommended servings, so we'll see.

TTFN!

PS - Any suggestions on what to name our mini daschund?? I guess I should post a pic and then it'll help to provide suggestions huh? I'll try to remember to do it later when I'm home.

Idle chit-chat

Karen came home on Wednesday!! Karen's home - Karen's home!! I'm sure no one is happier than she is! I wish I could go out and keep her company for a few days but money & work schedule just doesn't permit it. But I am trying to call her everyday, even if it's only for a few minutes!

We got a new puppy last Sunday. It's a miniature daschund. He's sooooo cute and tiny! He's about 7 weeks old. We have not named him yet. Buddy, our Golden, doesn't know what to think about him yet. Buddy is so big and the new pup is so small. I told Joe we should name the pup "one bite" cuz that's all it would take at this point! LOL But really, the girls love him too. He does whine & bark a lot though. Hopefully once I get off this midnight shift, he'll get a little more used to us. Oh, and the cats...well, they don't know what to think either. He's smaller than they are! I'll post a pic soon - maybe once we decide on a name. :)

Last night I took the girls to our local library for "A Night of Spooky and Fun Halloween Stories with Adam Mellema". What fun we had. He is an awesome story teller! I'm glad we went in the library earlier this week and found out about this event!

TTFN!

'Nuther update on Karen

I just called Karen. She's doing much better today. Seems she has a blood clot, well not exactly a clot but like a blood pool in her tummy. They are giving her blood to replenish what she's lost and to help build the pressure back so it'll stop the capillaries from bleeding. She's also on oxygen and demerol. So with that she isn't even able to drink water, just swab her mouth to keep it moist. She'll be staying in the lovely "resort" a bit longer. But she definitely sounded so much better today!

Update on Karen

Karen had a pretty rough night last night. Her mom called me this afternoon and told me Karen had just got back in her room from having a CAT scan of her tummy. Apparently they gave her solid foods already and caused her to have some gas which was unbearable throughout the night. They did the CAT scan as to make sure there was nothing else going on in her tummy except for the gas. So she's pretty worn out. Hopefully after she rests she'll give me a call back later. If not, I'll be calling again tomorrow to check on her.

9 months...

Joe and I celebrate our 9 month anniversary today!! I would have to say, that the past nine months, even though we've had ups and downs, it's been the happiest nine months I've had in a very very very long time and I owe it all to him!

Joe, I love you!!

Groggy

My wonderful friend, Karen just called me from the hospital. She had surgery today, you can read about why she needed to have surgery on her blog. She was very groggy but I am so happy she called!! I had tears in my eyes. She was using her morphine drip regularly as she was allowed and she was in pain but I had her laughing a little and it just made my day to hear her voice after knowing what she had just gone thru!

I will give her a call or two tomorrow to see how she's doing. I'm just so glad she called me and she made it thru the surgery alright. yay!

For Me

I have joined WW again as of Sept 29. I am also back into walking. Highly recommended by my doctors. Yesterday was my first day back walking and I only did a 10 minute walk, but it was a start. Today I did a 20 minute walk. Not sure how I'll fit a walk in tomorrow, due to an extremely busy day planned, but will definitely be back walking on Thursday. WW is going well. So far lost 5 lbs total. It's been rather hard at times to not just go to the fridge and eat what I want, like before, but I'm getting a handle on it.

Tomorrow evening should be a fun time. There is a Girl Scout event called a Sing-A-Long at "The Barn". It's a HUGE old red barn and the Girl Scouts use it annually for their Sing-A-Long event. The girls and I are going and hopefully my other 2 little Daisy Girl Scouts will go too. I have 4 girls total in my troop. One actually lives where "The Barn" is, so I just have to wait & see if the other 2 lil girlies show up at our meeting spot. If not, then I can probably take a Brownie or two with us. See, I'm the Daisy Girl Scout Leader and the co-leader for the Brownie Troop too! I've also been looking at different websites to get more ideas for Daisy meetings. Our next meeting is Oct. 26. We are celebrating Juliette Gordon Low's birthday. She is the founder of Girl Scouts and her nickname growing up was "Daisy". I enjoy planning these meetings. They are much fun, even with only 4 girls.

Ok, so I guess I've rambled on enough. Hope you all have a great night. :)

Hard to believe I haven't posted since October 8 and today is the 16th! Sheesh!

Happy Birthday to my friend Sara! I hope you've had a great day!

The weekend overall was really nice. We had some decent weather, although a bit windy. Got some work done in the garage. But lots left to do. If I keep on Joe it might get straightened up before the snow flies!! I hope so anyhow, cuz I wanna park my truck in there! Wish I had the money to get a remote starter put on my baby, but for now I don't. Maybe, just maybe I will before we get into the heart of winter. Yesterday the girls and I went to the Fire Department Open House. We had some fun there and the girls didn't want to leave but we had been there for an hour & a half and the event was going to be over in another 1/2 hr. The girls got their picture taken in part of the uniform that the firefighters wear. Click here if you'd like to see them dressed up. I also got the grass mowed. I wonder how many more times I'll have to do that before winter.

Tomorrow is a busy day. But then again, when isn't every day a busy one??

Have a great night & a good week!

Grumpies go bye-bye & Joe's Birthday

My grumpies are gone, I think you all have shoo'd them away. Thanks! I still have been thrown some pretty good curves this past week. Some of them are much harder to handle than others, but I have a really good support system with Joe. And I thank him for that!

Speaking of Joe, today is his birthday! He and I both had to work all day. I'm just waiting for him to get home. His mom & sister are supposed to be coming for dinner from what I understand and luckily they agreed to figure out what dinner would be. Lucky me! Money has been pretty tight here and so what Joe is getting for his birthday from me is a Texas Hold'em set. He says he really enjoys playing it although we've never played together anywhere. He's gone to friends houses before & played though. And also I got him a silly t-shirt. He likes those! lol
I have a couple things from the girls for him, but he isn't getting them til the girls can give them to him themselves. Which won't be for another week, they are at their dads this weekend/next week. So I hope this all turns out well tonight. I wanted to have a bonfire, but I forgot to get a burning permit yesterday and besides, it's probably too windy tonight to burn. Oh well.

TTFN - have a great weekend!

Grumpiness

Can't seem to shake getting grumpy easily. Maybe cuz I'm off my anti-depressant. I don't know. If the girls would just listen and do what they are told I wouldn't get grumpy. I hope I shake it soon, I'd hate to have that grumpy look on my face made permanent! LOL

So lots to do today. Better get on it!

Have a great day.

Yay, you found me!

It's good to see that some of my bloggin and Sis-2-Sis friends have found me at my new home. I'm sure more will venture over here to visit. :)

So far today I have the front yard mowed, and have tried to clean up out in the driveway. There is a bit of a mess out there. I ran out of gas in the lawnmower, so Joe has to get some more for me.

My head was way off again this morning. I'm not sure the generic for Claritin D and the Nasonex is enough. But I'm giving it a fair try.

Gonna head back outside. TTFN!
