How it turned out..

Well the one thing I was hoping would turn things around didn't. It didn't go badly either. Just was basically postponed til mid-January.

We had heard that a Ford dealership was buying vehicles and putting ppl in new Fords. So we went to check it out since my truck has given me quite a bit of grief since Thanksgiving Day. No luck. Basically found out I got screwed big time by Sundance in Grand Ledge. The same exact truck as mine, we were told was worth over $30,000 when I bought it. Guess we should have done some research. The Ford dealer showed us on his computer that it's really only worth about $18,500. We also found out that we paid for a service contract on the vehicle and yet, they won't stand behind the problems I've had. So I will be writing them in hopes of getting a refund on the contract. It won't be big, but it would be something. Anyhow, because I owe so much on the truck (buying it for more than it was worth and having to roll over part of the previous vehicle loan) I'm basically screwed on getting out of this deal and lowering my payment. It was worth a try anyhow.

But one good thing did happen today. I received, by certified mail, a resolution to a problem that I thought I might have to take to small claims court. I loaned a friend a substantial amount of money because she was in need at the time. I have been trying to get paid back for about 6 months now. I hadn't spoke to her for a least a month, maybe two. I finally decided I was going to do something about the good chunk she still owed me, so I called her. She ended up sending me future dated checks (payment plan) and a payoff date of the remaining balance. This was all done by certified mail...she stated that she knows she has to do as she wrote or I will pursue this in court which the court would find in my favor. I have to respond to her in writing by mail to seal the agreement. And I will. I am pleased I will be paid in full by the end of March. Our friendship on the other hand...most likely won't be saved. A friend doesn't treat you the way she treated me the past few months. It could have been helped. Apparently she didn't want to help it. She claims she doesn't want our friendship to be ruined...but I think she pretty much did that. Anyhow....I'm being paid back - finally.

I'm surprised your bank went along with the high loan for your truck. I thought they were supposed to help protect you from such things. Grrr.
